Egyptian Revival
This collection includes our “Cat’s Rule,” “Dog’s Rule,” and “Horse’s Rule” cartouches. These cartouches use the Ancient Egyptian spelling for cat, dog, and horse. Cartouches were only used to denote royalty. Placing the name of our companion animals within the cartouche symbolizes that our companions enjoy a special place in our lives and rule our heart. They are available in necklaces, pins, bracelets, and cufflinks. You will also find custom scarab links and other items reflecting this rich culture.
One interesting note is that while researching the designs for this, we wanted to incorporate bead shapes that the ancient Egyptians used. We shouldn’t have worried. The Egyptians were the ultimate bead fanatics. We haven’t found a shape or style of bead, from simple rounds to facetted bicones and wavy discs that the Egyptians didn’t embrace at some point. If a new type of bead was brought back in time, they would have used it in a heartbeat.
